We will be looking for a new executive at the next AGM (October meeting). Mike is moved away, so we definitely need a new webmaster. Society: has a new symbol and gear to go with it, some examples shown. There was an RASC membership plug, and one for the upcoming Calendar edition.
On the Road Again will be on TV September 17, 7 or 7:30. Jim Gillard will be profiled in a segment.
Randy showed some slides, most of which can be found at http://www.rasc.ca . Garry Dymond also provided some comments. Overall, we received favorable comments on this year's GA.
Ben: his scope was not set up, but enjoyed himself with binoculars. This is only the second time he has seen such a dark, clear sky. Friday night was clear. Randy brought an Iridium flare to everyone's attention. About 70 campers took part on Friday night. Prizes were given out to thank the volunteers.
[At the same time as SQB Chris and Sandra was 3 satellites in a 30-60-90 triangular formation.]
Lunar eclipse. Meteor shower: Orioniids. Asteroid pass (Toutatis).
[In other summer activities: Chris and Sandra managed to briefly visit A.C. Clarke in their trip to Sri Lanka. They also visited Greenwich and Flamsteed's house.]
