Garry gave the usual introduction, after he managed to make it to the meeting.
Robert passed around a handout he compiled from information from the BBC. He concentrated on planets, comet Loneos, and the Orionid meteor shower. For those who are a little new to astronomy, Robert also has a sheet entitled "Getting Started in Astronomy" from Sky and Telescope. He also has a paper sundial sheet for those interested in making their own sundial.
Recently, Robert has sent an email around with a survey for members about the Centre's equipment. He has paper copies if anyone hasn't received the email. People were advised the equipment would have a dual use, one for members and the other for public events.
Robert has been working on learning how to use an astroguider hooked up to his laptop. We learned how "astrocat" helped him break his toe. Fortunately, none of his gear was broken, excepting the laptop.
Mike introduced the reports, noting that Centre reports are available at the National web site, in the members-only section. Joe gave the treasurer's report for the fiscal year ending September 30. We had 50 members last year. There followed a long discussion on buying scopes.
Dr. Glyn George presided, as usual. A slate has been prepared by the nominating committee, and all of these members were individually elected to office by acclamation. There were no nominations from the floor. The new executive:
