Observations

The Sky Next Month

Robert Babb covered What's Up for the next month. The Moon will pass through the Pleiades on the 21st at about 6:10. Mars is at opposition. There will be a lunar eclipse on February 21, the date of our meeting. Saturn rises around 10-11 pm. Uranus is visible. Comet Holmes is visible in Perseus still, at around 1/2 degree in size.

Robert showed some of his pictures. Recent pictures included the Swan Nebula, the Moon a few nights ago, and M33. Pictures from our website included M42 by Tim Caruk, M43 by Chris Stevenson with an 8" from his backyard (stacked). Terrence Hounsell had a shot of the Milky Way, covering 120 degrees with a rectilinear fisheye lens.

Christmas Eats
