Library Week Opening Day Ceremonies

"Let Libraries Carry You Away!" is what we invited you to do, and thanks to the support of our communities, public libraries were celebrated around the Province.  Library Week was officially recognized in an announcement made by the Honourable Judy Foote, Minister of Education.

Parties and events were held in many public libraries across the island.  In St. John's, Don Brownridge of the Toronto Kite Fliers, showed us how to make kites, Kevin Major entertained us with a reading from his book "Eh to Zed?", and Mary Fearon told several stories.

Many thanks to the staff of the Newfoundland and Labrador Public Library and volunteers, for the wonderful opening ceremonies held across the province.   Library Week was a big success. Thanks for the photos!
