    Iona Bulgin is a doctoral candidate in English at Memorial University with editing experience, and a member of the publications committee of the Newfoundland Historical Society. Bert Riggs is Archivist of the Centre for Newfoundland Studies in Memorial University of Newfoundland Library, and chaired the Publications Committee in 1997

    The booklet contains two lectures that were presented to the Newfoundland Historical Society, both on Cabot's voyage - W.A. Munn in 1936, and Fabian O'Dea in 1971; a newspaper account of L.E.F. English's lecture to the Society on Cabot Rock at Grate's Cove in 1936; an annotated bibliography of books on Cabot by Olaf Janzen, historian at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College, Corner Brook; and a bibliography of periodical articles compiled by Joan Ritcey of the Centre for Newfoundland Studies.

    The cover illustration is by Michael Sutton of St. John's, and was entered in a high school Cabot contest in 1997.
