All regular lectures are at 08:00 PM at Hampton Hall, Marine Institute Ridge Road St.John's.

Society Facts and Activities
- Founded in 1905, the Newfoundland Historical Society is the oldest heritage organization in the province
- The society has permission to use the provincial Coats of Arms as its logo.
- The Society's objective is to promote knowledge and public discussion of the history and heritage of Newfoundland and Labrador
- The Newfoundland Historical Society is a registered charitable organization supported by membership fees, donations, and sales of its publications
- Offers a fall/winter series of free public lectures
- Publishes books and bibliographies on Newfoundland and Labrador history
- Gives annual Heritage Awards
- Produces its own newsletter three times a year
- Membership includes a subscription to the Newfoundland Quarterly, in which the Society has its own section, "Aspects"
- Plays an important advocacy role in issues concerning history and heritage

- Has regional representatives on its executive
- Maintains an office in the Colonial Building in St. John's, with access to its archival,
vertical file, and library collections, and offers reference service by phone, fax and e-mail.
