St. John's InfoNET
Virtual Hosting Agreement for Information Providers

This is an agreement between the St. John's InfoNET Association, hereafter referred to as the Association, and an Information Provider, as defined by the St. John's InfoNET Information Provider's Agreement.

The InfoNET will provide to the Information Provider, virtual hosting of web site under the following conditions:

  1. The Information Provider must complete the St. John's InfoNET Information Provider's Agreement. If accepted, the Association will grant the provider's agent access to a directory on the InfoNET's web service and this directory will be accessible via the web with a URL of the format:
    http://www.sji.ca/DIRECTORY-NAME/
    where DIRECTORY-NAME is mutually agreed upon by the the Association and the Information Provider. The Association and the Information provider remain bound by all conditions of the St. John's InfoNET Information Provider's Agreement.
  2. The Information Provider will obtain an officially registered Internet domain name.
  3. The Association, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to refuse to service any domain name.
  4. The Information Provider will provide to the Assocation documentation demonstrating that the Information Provider has been granted use of the officially registered Internet domainname.
  5. The Information Provider will remit a fee of $60 per annum, subject to change on each renewal.
  6. The Association will provide the technical support necessary to make the directory referenced in the first clause accessible on the web via the URL
      http://DOMAIN-NAME/
    where DOMAIN-NAME is the officially registered domain name referenced in clause 2. Technical support will include the implemenation and maintenance of Internet Domain Name Services (DNS) as well as web service.
  7. With the exception of the explicit terms listed above, this agreement does not entitle to the Information Provider to any service not provided under the terms of the St. John's InfoNET Information Provider's Agreement. In particular, the Information Provider is not entitled to any higher quality of service than is provided for under the St. John's InfoNET Information Provider's Agreement.

If an information provider does not meet the terms of this agreement, the InfoNET Association may revoke its permission to distribute information through the InfoNET. If, for any reason, the agent is unable to continue as a maintainer of the information, the agent or the information provider should notify the InfoNET Association so that another can be found to continue the work.
