| Silas Crummey (right) and a friend pose with a caribou carcass slung across a Newfoundland Pony circa 1900. Unregulated hunting saw the demise of the Trinity-Conception Caribou herd. Fortunatly, caribou have been reintroduced into this region of the Avalon peninsula. Today, there are more than 500 000 caribou in Newfoundland and Labrador. |
