Cabot Tower was built in 1897 to commemorate both the four hundredth anniversary of the discovery of Newfoundland by Giovanni Caboto and the sixtieth anniversary of the coronation of Queen Victoria, Empress of India. Cabot Tower is on Signal Hill, St. John's Newfoundland.
