WELCOME!

Amnesty International would like to welcome you to its first human rights film festival in St.John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.

The festival features a number of films from around the world. All of the films are related to human rights and how they affect our lives.

The event is a two-day film marathon organized by the local Amnesty International Group 60. It is both an awareness-raising event, as well as a fundraiser for the St.John's group. The event is taking place on the 15th and 16th of March,2004 at the Engineering Building at Memorial University, room EN 2006 (click to see map), so schedule this time in your planner as "busy" and come see some films that will help you broaden your view of the world.

This year's festival promises to be two days of awareness on the issues that are faced by people around the world. Some of the films feature issues on refugees in Canada and abroad, trafficking of women, ethnic conflicts, child soldiers, free trade, consequences of war, etc.

All proceeds from the festival ticket sales will go to the Amnesty International Group 60 Fund.
