Carry the card that cares.
The Amnesty International VISA card.

A message from Amnesty International,
Group 60, St. John's, Newfoundland

The Canadian Section of Amnesty International has partnered with Citizens Bank of Canada to help raise money to fight human rights abuses.

Citizens Bank is a subsidiary of VanCity, Canada's largest credit union, and a company that has developed a reputation as a leader in ethical business practices and corporate social responsibility for over 50 years. How many banks do you know that carry Amnesty urgent action details on their web page?

Citizens is the only bank in Canada with a published, member-developed ethical policy that outlines its stance on human rights and its refusal to invest its members money in companies that don't adhere to strict ethical guidelines.

For every application approved, Citizens Bank will donate up to $40 to Amnesty.

•On top of that, every time you use the card, Citizens will donate $0.10 to Amnesty. This is a transaction fee, and it's not related to the size of the purchase.

•Annual fee: $0.00 (not a misprint: zero dollars, no cents, no fee)

By having an Amnesty International VISA card, you can show your commitment every time you use it. (Plus it's a cool card.)

The per-card donation made by the bank to Amnesty depends on the number of cards taken out: the greater the number of cards, the higher the donation, up to $40. At present, we have reached the level where every new card generates a $20 donation.

We can't offer any guarantees, but experts tell us that those who leave money to a charity in their will live on average two years longer than those who do not. Think about it!
