BANNER OF CELEBRATION
THE LIFE OF
BAHÁ'U'LLÁH
1817 to 1892

St. John's Bahá'í Community

This banner was created in 1992 in celebration of the Life of Bahá'u'lláh,
1817 to 1892 and to commemorate the Centenary of His Passing

1. (Mírzá Buzurg)     The father of Bahá'u'lláh, gives us a glimpse of the kind of life that Bahá'u'lláh was born into.
2. (The map)     This map shows some of the consequences of the persecution of Bahá'u'lláh  and His Faith by both religious and political forces.  He was banished from place to place, in their attempt to interfere with His influence on the people.  In so doing, they fulfilled many prophecies foretold in the Bible.
3. (The aqueduct)     No amount of persecution could prevent people from loving Baha'u'llah.  One government official asked Bahá'u'lláh what he could do for Him; Bahá'u'lláh asked him to restore the aqueduct so that the people could once again have pure water.
4. (The trees)     This is the spot where Bahá'u'lláh stood when He showed `Abdu'l-Bahá where to build the Shrine of The Báb, the Herald of the Faith.      This was the first sign of the transformation to take place on Mount Carmel.
5. (The leaves and the tree) Addressing all of mankind, Bahá'u'lláh said:

Ye are all the leaves of one tree

6. (The bird of peace)     Bahá'u'lláh has given us Teachings to help humanity establish lasting peace in the world.
7. (The sun and the Greatest Name)     In the Teachings of Baha'u'llah, Revelation has a similar relationship to the spiritual world as the sun has to the physical world.  The Arabic writing translates: God is Most Glorious.
