Ticker Tom Introduced in Labrador

A Ticker Tom Workshop was held with 10 recreation leaders from the Wabus Summer Recreation Program with Ticker Tom being a hit throughout the summer! It is hoped that a similar workshop will be conducted next summer. Plans are already underway. Thanks to St. John's Heart Health Coalition for sharing this program.

Introducing Smokey Sue . . .

In the community of Makkovik, Heart Health Coalition members and volunteers have been able to ensure heart health is present in a variety of community activities. Some of these activities include blood pressure clinics, healthy eating presentation and displays to youth groups, workplaces and community functions.

One innovative presentation has been the introduction of Smokey Sue to school children in an attempt to show the negative effects of smoking. Also, congratulations fo to the Labrador Innuit Health Commission for making their workplace smoke-free.
