Detailed Description of the River
First Descent: (2001) Brandon Knapp, Johnnie Kern, Dustin Lindgren, and Stephan Riendeau.
Excerpt from Kayak Session magazine, #2. "Exploring New Territory in the 'untouched
Northeast": a paddler's journey through Newfoundland," pages 36 - 42. By Brandon Knapp.
"…From the bridge it looked amazing. The gorge upstream was stacked with five waterfalls
ranging from 10 to 50 feet in height. After very close inspection we decided to only run the
top 35-footer. Four of the five falls had bad consequences if anything went wrong and we
were definitely not in an easy place to deal with an emergency. So, under blazing blue skies
we paddled the first descent of the 35-foot Upper Bradore Falls and then roped our boats up
and out of the gorge."
